Gravel wheels under 1400g

Laszlo came to me with clear objectives, solid gravel 650B wide wheels with weight under 1400g and reasonable price.
We went through many options and discussion and finally we've got the perfect setup.

Rims - DT Swiss XR331 in 28/28h drilling. Solid, lightweight - only 360g, inner width 20mm. Just perfect for gravel usage for tires 45mm

Hubs - Soul kozak in thru axle format. Front 15x100, rear 12x142 with XD freehub. Those are one of the most solid hubs in my offer. At the same time they are super simple in construction. You can service them by yourself, no tools are needed. End cap, freehub with integrated ratchet ring, dust cap, second ratchet ring with built in magnet. That is all. They work like a charm and large bearings guarantee durability.

Spokes - Pillar PSR 2016 on front and rear NDR side. PSR 2017 on DR. Double butted with reinforced J-bend section. Light & strong.

Orange nipples were planned from the beginning to match the frame, however the idea for orange decals came to my mind last minute, during on of my long road rides, when the best ideas come to my head.

Overall wheels came with 1370g which is superb weight. In addition 27.5'' rims provide much more stiffness than 29'' ones. Some time ago I built exactly same set but with 29'' rims and now I could compare apples to apples. 27.5'' rims are way stronger and stiffer. Without any doubt this is the advantage of 650B wheels.

Beautiful, eye catching wheels with Soul-Kozak hubs, for 769CHF. One of the nicest gravel wheels I made this year (so far ;-) )

@Laszlo, enjoy these babies. All the best on the gravel trails!
